I was at a friend's house on election night, with a group of people that included foreigners as well as Americans of various ethnic backgrounds. We were all swept away when Jesse Jackson started crying. At that moment, my niece, who is in school at Univ of Tn, sent me a text saying how happy she was. I got this amazing sense of solidarity with America!
